Description
Victorian diamond crescent moon brooch in 18 karats rose gold and silver. The brooch takes the shape of a crescent moon. The crescent is set with nine rose-cut diamonds in a star-shaped setting. On the outline of the crescent moon, four rose-cut diamonds are set in grain. The entire motif is openwork. On the reverse side, the structure is entirely in pink gold, the perimeter decorated with an openwork honeycomb. French Napoleon III period jewel, Victorian period, circa 1870-1890, France.
Hallmarks: Horse’s head (1838-1919) and crab (silver 800 thousandths)
