Lovely antique ring decorated with enamelled pansies, in 18 karat pink gold. French regional work from the end of the 19th century.
Description
Enamel regional wedding ring : sentimental pansy band ring made of pink 18 karats gold. It is decorated in five enameled and chiseled parts. They represents floral pattern with the central motif depicting two larger pansies. The other parts are partially erased due to time. French work (Poitou or Auvergne) from the end of the 19th century.
This ring is a part of what we called sentimental jewelry, which were jewelry offered to a loved one : the pensy alludes to « I think about you « or « think about me ».

Enamel colors: black, blue, green, white, red-brown
Condition: enamel breaks, wears, visible trace of old size adjustment. 2 small holes visible inside the ring.
