Description
Bracelet with Perpignan garnets in 18-karat rose gold (750). A very beautiful bracelet adorned with sixteen round-cut garnets. The garnets are cut in the so-called “Perpignan cut,” which is a rose cut with a flat back. The garnets in the bracelet display a lovely raspberry-red color, characteristic of Perpignan garnets. They are mounted on thin gold foils (paillons) and set in a closed setting. The setting is delicately decorated with V-shaped triangular figures on the edges, and the gem settings have a domed bottom. The bracelet’s clasp is a box-clasp with a safety chain. This regional bracelet dates back to the early 19th century and originates from the Southeast of France.
The hallmarks for quality assurance and the goldsmith hallmark are illegible.
