Description
Victorian diamonds crescent moon brooch in 18 karat rose gold and silver. The brooch takes the shape of a crescent moon. The crescent is decorated with thirteen diamonds cut in Dutch rose, and set by claws. These diamonds are highlighted by an openwork structure in rose gold. At the inner end of the design, seventeen rose-cut diamonds are set in arched patterns. The entire brooch is openwork. On the reverse side, the structure is entirely in pink gold, the circumference is decorated with an openwork honeycomb. Napoleon III period celestial jewel, Victorian period, circa 1870-1890, France.
