Jewelry history: Retro jewelry is characterized by the use of yellow gold, the development of 3-D volumes and the rarity of gemstones. Here we have a perfect example of such jewelry: a large volume, the use of synthetic rubies – thus compensating for the lack of gemstones available on the market after the War. Indeed, the Second World War had a considerable impact on jewelry fashion at the time, sweeping aside the taste for “white”, the geometric “flat” and the abundance of gems of Art Deco.

Victorian Spaniel brittany dog ring in rose gold 9 karats. Antique ring with a painted miniature, showing a sitted dog, looking to the right. It is most probably a hunting dog, Spaniel Brittany type. The miniature is painted on a white background (it could be ivory or vellum). 19th century ring, Victorian period, probably from England.

Edwardian enamel dog cufflinks, pair of silver (800) cufflinks decorated with polychrome enamel hunting dogs. The dog depicted is probably a Pointer. Men’s jewelry from the Art Deco period (1920-1935).

Marquise diamond ring in yellow gold 18 karats and platinum. In the center, a line of 5 diamonds in bezel setting, one more important in the center, surrounded by rose-cut diamonds on platinum. Belle époque navette ring, early 20th century.

Victorian French enamel foiled paste cross pendant in silver. This cross is in silver with filigree decoration, forming a cross adorn with paste faceted pink glasses on spangles meant to have a look of pink topaz. A black enamel decoration with white dots covers the entire pendant. A glass bead adorns the upper part of the composition. The bezels are completely closed.
