Description
Mourning opal onyx locket pendant in yellow gold 18 karats (750). Large onyx Victorian locket made of an oval onyx on which is set an opal framed by four diamonds cut in rose, on a yellow gold setting. The cabochon-cut opal presents bright red, orange, green, blue and violet light effects. On the back, the onyx is delicately carved to accommodate an oval photograph, protected by a gold-rimmed glass. The jewel’s clasp takes on a vegetal form, enameled in black and set with a rose-cut diamond. Medallion souvenir of the late 19th century.
