Georgian Saint Esprit pendant

Antique religious pendant in the shape of a cross, also called Jeanette cross.

 

Description

Georgian Saint Esprit pendant in rose gold 18 karats (750). This regional pendant is composed of an oval element with faceted decoration, it holds a plate of gold cut and engraved with a geometric decoration using three chains. Suspended from this element is a pendant of the Holy Spirit representing a stylized bird carrying three gourds (or tears). The Holy Spirit pendant is enameled in blue, it is set in its center with a yellow topaz on pearl. The two upper elements are also enamelled with the same blue. The chains are composed of links jaseron, the central chain is decorated with flowers. Note that it is very rare to have an almost intact enamel on these jewelry. This antique Saint Esprit pendant dates from the early 19th century, circa 1810, Auvergne, France.
