Description
Art Nouveau agate diamond pendant in 18k yellow gold (750) and platinum. This long pendant features a large rectangular agate moss with cut sides. It is translucent gray with green veins. The agate is encased in a gold and platinum frame set with 15 rose-cut diamonds. The lower part of the pendant holds three diamonds in tassel. This pendant is set with a total of 19 diamonds (the upper one is a paste stone). The bail is nicely folded in on itself. This jewel comes from the Art Nouveau or Arts & Crafts preiod of the early 20th century.
Moss agate is a gem from the microcrystallized quartz family. It features inclusions reminiscent of grass or algae, due to its natural green inclusions, called chlorites.
