Antique green enamel and marcasite ring

Antique marquise ring, dating from the 19th century. The ring is decorated with marcasites on a green enamelled background.

Description

Antique green enamel and marcasite ring in 18 karat rose gold and silver. Antique ring of marquise shape centered on an oval plate covered with enamel of green color. It is covered with a silver decoration in the form of crosses and set with marcasites imitating the brilliance of the diamond. The ring is worked in openwork and decorated with arabesques forming a heart. The ring bears the inscription “August 5, 1914” on the reverse. Antique ring of the XIXth century having probably been offered again at the beginning of the XXth century. French ring of the XIXth century.

Rhinoceros hallmark, 18 karat acid-tested gold.
