This Art Deco period ring dates to circa 1930 and originates from France.

Opals have been associated with the power of invisibility in folklore, earning them the title “Patronus forum” (patron of thieves) during the late Middle Ages.

A verre églomisé mirror allows for makeup application. The box is delicately adorned with fine stripes on the lid and base. The ends of the box are enamelled in black. The push-button is made of platinum and embellished with two baguette-cut diamonds, each weighing 0.05 carats. An antique Cartier London powder compact, circa 1930, London.

It is decorated with a circular pattern in platinum, set with 42 rose-cut diamonds. The medallion opens and can conceal a photograph, which is wedged under a thin glass plate and a gold circle (present inside the medallion). On the two inner faces, the gold has been polished in successive rounds that form a pattern. The clasp of the jewel is decorated with black enamel and set with four rose-cut diamonds.
