The diamond rings par excellence are the engagement rings. The famous solitaire, the timeless American wedding ring: the diamond is the stone of marriage. Even if today things are changing and you can also offer a colored stone to your bride, the diamond remains the symbol of love. Why is that? Because in the 50’s the biggest diamond company in the world, De Beers, invented a slogan that will remain in the annals: “A diamond is forever”. A diamond is forever. A diamond is like a marriage, forever. With these four words, De Beers met with incredible success and in 4 years it increased its diamond sales by 55%.

    Jewellery history: Retro jewellery is characterised by the use of yellow gold, the development of 3-D volumes and the rarity of precious stones. The Second World War had a considerable impact on jewellery fashion at the time, sweeping aside the Art Deco taste for ‘white’, geometric ‘flat’ and abundant gemstones.

The central diamonds are surrounded by two lines of four calibrated rubies. This geometric composition of rubies and diamonds is itself framed by two high-volume gold scrolls set with two lines of nine 88-cut diamonds. The jeweller and goldsmith plays with the volumes, the curved and geometric lines and the colours of the gold. Tank ring from 1945.
