Description

Victorian snake ruby ring made of yellow 18 karats gold. Twisted snake with a ruby on its head, wrapped twice around the finger. The snake’s head, set with a round and pink ruby, and delicately chiseled with patterns, comes to rest on the 2 rows formed by its tail. The snake has been a popular motif in jewelry since ancient Greek and Roman times, it was considered a guardian spirit and a symbol of eternal life.

Symbol of eternal love, the snake was a popular engagement ring in the North of France and also in Normandy during the 19th Century.
