Antique silver enamel portrait box. Circular box entirely enameled and decorated with the portrait of Marie-Adélaïde de Bourbon. This portrait was created after a work by Vigée Lebrun. The base of the box is decorated with a landscape and a column supporting a vase. The reverse side of the lid is adorned with a swallow playing with a butterfly. The box is signed ED.L and monogrammed EJ? beneath the portrait. Antique box with Limoges enamel decoration, circa 1900, France.
Hallmarks: Boar’s head (French state hallmark for silver) and maker’s mark CJ.
