Description
Victorian gimmel wedding ring in rose gold 18 karats. It opens and is fixed by interlocking rings, it takes the form of a round ring. The names of the bride and groom and/or the date of the wedding were traditionally engraved on it. This one bears the inscription “17 July 1860” (in french). The wedding ring is decorated with engravings on the outline with a stylized sun with six rays. Wedding ring from the second half of the 19th century.

More about this jewellery : the twin rings have the particularity to open in two distinct rings which remain however linked, symbolizing the two souls joined together, separated and yet inseparable. They were offered on the occasion of a wedding.
