Description
Love medal Augis ring in yellow and pink gold 18 karats. Ring centred with a love medal “more than yesterday less than tomorrow” in yellow gold, signed A.Augis. The “+” sign is set with a diamond and the “-” sign with two calibrated synthetic rubies. The love medal is set with four claws, in a chased setting. The ring is made up of two gold strands topped by a basket delicately worked in volutes forming hearts. The shoulders are decorated with stylised leaves. French antique ring, circa 1940/1950.

More information : This refers to the quotation from a letter from Rosmonde Gérard, the poetess, to her love Edmond Rostand, the author of Cyrano de Bergerac : “For, you see, each day I love you more, Today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow”. Inspired by these two lovers, Alphonse Augis took up these lines in his ‘medals of love’, condensing them into ‘+ than yesterday – than tomorrow’.
