More about chrysoprase / green chalcedony: Chrysoprase is a green monocrystallised chalcedony whose name evokes its colour: from the Greek “krhusos” meaning “gold” and “prasinos” meaning light green “leek” colour. This natural stone owes its green/yellow colour to nickel and its more intense green colour to chromium. Chalcedony is often dyed by humans to obtain a more intense green colour to imitate natural stone.
