Description
Art Nouveau diamond brooch in 18 karat yellow gold (750 thousandths) and platinum. A “whiplash” line, typical of the Art Nouveau period, studded with diamonds makes up the entire brooch. 65 rose-cut diamonds on the brooch. Discreet and lovely Art Nouveau brooch, circa 1910.

Historical and technical point: the “rose” cut dates from the 14th century. It has a domed shape, without a breech, with 3, 6 or 9 facets, with straight or rounded sides. Today, this type of cutting is hardly ever done and we are very please to enjoy it on antique jewels.
