Memento mourning ring in rose gold 14 karats (585). Memento mourning ring in navette shape. Under a bulging glass is an oval tray circled with gold bearing the initials JO for John Olding, embellished with half fine pearls. The medallion is set on a hairline background in a blue enamel surround with white dots. The shoulders, ring and underside of the plate are chiseled. On the reverse, the ring is inscribed: “Rev’d John Olding Oct 7, 1785 AE: 63”, indicating the identity of the person to whom this ring paid tribute. The lion already appears on early Middle Kingdom scarabs, but is particularly popular during the Second Intermediate Period and the New Kingdom. It features double decoration: on one side, two enameled pansies in a cartouche, surrounded by a blue frame; on the other side, a basket of enameled flowers in a cartouche, in a dark blue frame. Antique 19th century ring in 18 karat rose gold and silver. Lozenge-shaped ring set with diamonds and rose-cut natural stones (topazes or chrysoberyls) on foils. The ring is soberly decorated with two strands of gold, adorned with a stylized leaf at shoulder level. The stones are quite worn, making it difficult to determine their nature.
