More information : These rings, called “Princess Harem Ring” or “Navarantana Thai Princess Ring”, were made to pay tribute to the headdresses worn by traditional Thai dancers. Their design also refers to the shape of the crown worn by Thai princesses. This is why they are called “princess rings” and “harem rings”. In the 1940s to 1960s, many princess rings were brought back from Thailand by American servicemen who gave them to their brides.
