The whole is surrounded by 24 brilliant-cut diamonds set in an octagon and highlighted by a pearl setting. The geometrical style of this ring resumes the codes of the Art Deco jewellery of the 1930s. 2300,00€Georgian diamond portrait ring in rose gold 18 karats and silver 800 thousandth. Antique ring composed of a hexagonal bezel enclosing a lady’s portrait. The miniature portrait is painted on ivory, it is highlighted by a surround of thirty rose-cut diamonds in a silver setting. The basket is beautifully crafted, decorated with scrolls in cartouches corresponding to the hexagonal shape of the jewel. This ring is a transformable piece of jewellery. The bezel can be removed by means of a pin located at the basket.
It is likely that the portrait, once removed from the ring, could be worn as a brooch or pendant by fitting it to another suitable structure.
This ring dates from the late 18th century.
