    Victorian micro-mosaic cross pendant in 18 karat gold. Cross pendant with micro-mosaic decoration featuring the words “PAX DEI” meaning “Peace of God” in Latin. In the center, a cross surrounded by two doves, and below, an anchor, an ear of wheat and white flowers. The micro-mosaic decoration is surrounded by a gold-beaded frieze. On the reverse, the cross is inscribed “Xbre M.R.R à M.R.C, 1868”. The anchor is a symbol of hope, but also of early Christianity. The wheat symbolizes Christ, who dies in order to be reborn; and the white flowers symbolize purity and the Virgin Mary. Christian religious pendant, dated 1868, made in Italy for France.

    Italian hallmark: crossed keys and miter (active from 1815 to 1870) and eagle head hallmark.

    Condition: the cross has been restored with a transparent resin to prevent the micro-mosaic from disappearing. This ensures legibility, but is not definitive and can be removed.

    More informations : The “Peace of God” is a medieval movement whose origins date back to the 10th century and was intended to impose and guarantee peace for both religious and social reasons. It was mentioned on Italian Grand Tour objects in the 19th century.

    Gold Normandy Saint Esprit pendant in 18 karat gold. Originally from Normandy, it features a dove with its head down, holding an olive branch in its beak. The bird hangs from a bow richly decorated with white paste stones, imitating diamonds. Red and green faceted glass adorns the olive branch at the bottom. A flat ring on the reverse of the pendant allows it to be worn on a velvet chain or ribbon. Norman regional catholic pendant, France, circa 1850.

Antique regional cross decorated with Bressan enamels and composed of six enameled elements: the central element is square and enameled in sky blue, the others have a drop shape and are enameled in dark green. Each element is set with red or green faceted glass at its center and decorated with gold arabesques. The cross is openwork and the setting is 18-karat gold. Antique regional cross, Burgundy, late 19th century.

This cross is in silver with filigree decoration, forming a cross adorn with paste faceted pink glasses on spangles meant to have a look of pink topaz.     Large antique Augis Love medal in 18 karat yellow gold. In this antique version of the Love medal, the “+” sign is highlighted by 5 rose-cut diamonds and the “-” sign by three calibrated synthetic rubies. The medal is surrounded by a frieze of laurel. The pendant features a quotation from a letter from Rosmonde Gérard, the poetess, to her love Edmond Rostand, the author of Cyrano de Bergerac: “For, you see, every day I love you more, Today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow”. Inspired by these two lovers, Alphonse Augis used these verses in his “Love medals”, condensing them to “+ qu’hier – que demain”. Early twentieth-century Médaille d’Amour, circa 1930.

    Saint Esprit du Puy en Velay pendant in 18-karat (750) pink gold.  This regional pendant is made of stamped gold leaf decorated with a stylized bird carrying three garnets as a pendant.  The center of the jewel is also set with a garnet.  Around it, the blue enameled decoration of the jewel has almost disappeared. The Holy Spirit is held at the top by a gold element forming a knot, set with nine garnets.  This antique regional Holy Spirit pendant dates from the beginning of the 19th century, circa 1810, Auvergne, France.

    Erased rooster hallmark (French state hallmark for 18 karat gold between 1809 and 1819).

    Condition: missing enamels, a garnet replaced at the bottom, old welds at the back.
