This jewel has already gone to its new home
Lava earrings attr. to Pio Castellani in 14karat gold. Long, three-tiered earrings adorned with lava stone cameos. The upper part, in black lava, depicts a ram's head; the other, in gray lava and shuttle-shaped, represents a woman's head. The center is decorated with an openwork filigree rectangle, framed by two pendants in the form of hollow gold drops. Earrings in the Etruscan style, similar to a set preserved in the Poldi Pezzoli Museum in Milan and made by Fortuneo Pio Castellani in the early 19th century. Antique pendant earrings, 1820/1840.
Shell and swan hallmark (posterior).

Condition: Crack in two gold drops. No chips on the lava parts. Scratches from use. Lower part probably modified in the 19th century.
