Antique accessories
Jewelers have always known how to invent and create other beautiful objects besides jewelry, and accessories reflect this. Minaudières, cigarette cases, lipstick tubes, powder compacts, cigarette holders, clocks, pocket watches or fob watches, mirrors, belt buckles... All these objects are part of the daily creation of jewelry houses throughout their existence, following the periods and fashions.
Accessories are an integral part of the toilet, the trousseau and later of the emancipation of women. Taking out one's cigarette case at the beginning of the 20th century was an act of liberation from codes, just like wearing trousers. Accessories and objects such as minaudières gradually disappeared during this period, giving way to smaller accessories such as tubes of lipstick. Similarly, fans and dance cards are objects that disappeared at the end of the 19th century.
These objects make it possible to precisely locate a period when they subsequently disappeared.
