Antique medals can be religious medals but not necessarily. It is obvious that we will find all the baptism medals, communion medals, Virgin Mary medals, small thin crosses, representations of Saint Christopher or Saint Joseph. But medals can also be symbolic or sentimental without being religious. They can be a testimony of love, as proven by the Augis medals: these are Love medals, on which are inscribed like a rebus the message “I love you much more than yesterday and less than tomorrow”. The medal is a flat jewel, which is worn at the end of a chain or sometimes on a bracelet.
