Victorian Spaniel brittany dog ring
Victorian Spaniel brittany dog ring in rose gold 9 karats. Antique ring with a painted miniature, showing a sitted dog, looking to the right. It is most probably a hunting dog, Spaniel Brittany type. The miniature is painted on a white background (it could be ivory or vellum). 19th century ring, Victorian period, probably from England.
Clover hallmark (later add)
Finger size : 50 EU or 5,5 US (possible sizing)
Dimensions of the ring head : 1,8 x 1,3 cm
Conservation : this ring is very old and has a miniature, it should not be worn near water (shower, washing up, bathing)
Condition: good general condition of the miniature. Some iridescence visible under the paint. Traces of oxidation, traces of soldering on the ring.
Weight : 3,32 gr
Historical point : in the Middle Ages, the dog was considered impure, even unholy. Over time, it gained consideration thanks to its association with hunting, while appearing as a pet in pictorial representations. It is present on tombstones at the feet of the deceased, a symbol of fidelity and is found with the same meaning in 19th century jewellery. Although the notion of fidelity was very prevalent in the 18th and 19th centuries, it is above all the hunting reference that prevails in men's jewellery, whether the animals are sculpted in the round in hard stone or enamelled under rock crystal.

To mainland France :
We ship within 24 hours by registered Colissimo with insurance and delivery against signature. The cost of transport is €10 .
If you want an "Express" delivery, you can choose the Chronopost option for next day delivery. This option is only possible if the order is placed before 4 p.m. Delivery is not guaranteed from Friday to Saturday. The cost of transport is €30 .
Important: Shipments are made on weekdays on working days. In case of a trade fair, shipments may be postponed to a later date (specified on the website). We are in no way responsible for delivery delays from partner companies.
To Europe : shipments are made by registered Colissimo with insurance and delivery against signature. The cost of transport is €15 .
If you want an "Express" delivery, you can choose the Chronopost option for delivery within 48 to 72 hours. The cost of transport is €40 .
To the World : shipments are made via DHL , registered with insurance and delivery against signature. The cost of transport is €35 .
If you want " Express " delivery, you can choose the option which will cost €60 .
Important: International shipments take 6-9 days to be delivered. Express shipments take 2-3 days. Shipments are made on weekdays on working days. All our jewelry is delivered with a certificate for insurance value. It includes a photo, a complete description of the jewelry, the purchase price and the customer's address. All our stones are appraised by our gemologist, a graduate of the National Institute of Gemmology in Paris. Some stones are accompanied by a French laboratory certificate (this is then specified in the jewelry sheet). The jewelry is carefully checked, a condition report accompanies each description.
