This jewel has already gone to its new home
Victorian diamond star brooch in 18 karat gold. This large star-shaped brooch is a celestial jewel with 16 points. Eight are set with rose-cut diamonds, the other eight are in smooth gold. In the center is an old-cut diamond weighing 0.55 carats. This motif with multiple tapered rays, sometimes called the "Star of Bethlehem" or "Comet Star," is typical of late Victorian or Napoleon III jewelry. Brooch made circa 1870-1890.
