Rudraksha silver set with 5-sided. Antique set consisting of a transformable necklace (or mala), a pair of earrings and a cross-shaped brooch made of rudraksha seeds (from the blue cherry tree, a tree common in India). Antique jewelry set, India or Nepal, circa 1950.
- The necklace , 49 cm long, can be separated into two bracelets . One has a chiseled silver decoration in the shape of foliage, the other an openwork decoration in the shape of stylized leaves. The necklace is decorated with 3 tassel seeds, of different lengths.
Necklace length: 49 cm
Bracelet length: 24 cm (corresponds to a wrist circumference of 18 cm max.) - The pair of earrings consists of a tasseled rudraksha seed with a swan neck setting.
Earring height: 4.5 cm - The cross brooch consists of 6 seeds attached by faceted silver studs.
Height of the cross: 7.5 cm - Width: 5.5 cm - Thickness: 2 cm
Rudraksha seeds are sacred in Hinduism and associated with Shiva.
They are traditionally worn as malas (prayer necklaces). These all have 5 faces (5 mukhi).
