Renaissance rock crystal intaglio cross

Renaissance rock crystal intaglio cross in 22 karat gold. 17th century pendant in rock crystal, carved in the shape of a cross. On one side, the crystal is engraved with an intaglio depicting the crucified Christ. The ends of the cross are decorated with a 22-karat gold setting adorned with small dots on a black enamel background; the chiseled balls were formerly enameled in light blue. The rock crystal has sail-shaped inclusions, but no cracks or scratches. A religious pendant, probably Italian or French, it could be worn as a pendant or attached to a rosary, 17th century.
