Mellerio Archangel St Michael pendant in 18 karat gold. The medal depicts the Archangel Saint Michael slaying the dragon, surrounded by the Latin inscription "defende nos in praelio," meaning "defend us in battle," a reference to the prayer to Saint Michael that appeared in the Leonine Prayers of 1886. The medal is dated "May 6, 1891." Antique medal, circa 1890, Mellerio, Paris.
