Large Tiger's eye bee brooch

Large Tiger's eye bee brooch in 18 karat gold and silver. An important brooch depicting a bee or bumblebee with outstretched wings. The body is adorned with a tiger's eye quartz cabochon and the abdomen is decorated with bands of black enamel alternating with bands of gold. They are set with rose-cut diamonds. The silver wings are also entirely set with rose-cut diamonds. The eyes are encrusted with two ruby cabochons. Antique bee brooch, circa 1880.
