Enamel virgin Mary medal in 18 karats gold. Art Nouveau period medal depicting the Virgin Mary in profile with a halo at its center. Surrounding her is a gold floral motif set against a transparent blue plique-à-jour enamel background (also known as openwork enamel). The reverse of the medal is smooth and unengraved. Religious medal, Art Nouveau, circa 1900.
