Second Empire silver necklace

This jewel has already gone to its new home

Second Empire silver necklace, glass on spangles and enamel. This necklace is in filigree and openwork silver, formed of rosettes, bezels and pendants set with pink and green faceted glass on spangles. These faceted glasses imitate topaz and emerald. Two-tone enameled fleurons (white with black dots or black with white dots) decorate the necklace.

On the rosettes, we find small vermeil leaves contrasting with the silver color of the rest of the composition. The whole punctuated with half pearls. The bezels and pendants have a closed bottom. The hook-shaped clasp is hidden and has a safety chain. French jewel attributed to Jean-François Legrand, circa 1860, Second Empire.
