Victorian Garnet Snake Brooch

This jewel has already gone to its new home

Beautiful Victorian snake brooch (Napoleon III period, second half of the 19th century) in gold and garnet, very nicely executed.

Crafted from 18 karat gold, the serpent's body swirls and coils beneath its head, upon which rests a 0.25 ct garnet. The almandine garnet has a beautiful scarlet red tone that pairs beautifully with the serpent's yellow gold hue.

Delicate patterns and tiny details are engraved on the snake's head and eyes.
Eagle head hallmark for 18 carat gold, French work.

Condition: The stone is well set, the details are in good condition and the closing pin holds very well, ensuring you can wear it.
A small dent in the gold to report at the top right (1mm). And I think gold was added to reinforce the part where the pin locks. You can see it in the photos.

Total weight: 3.60 gr
Length: 30 mm
Width: 20 mm
