Roman ring intaglio lion
This jewel has already gone to its new home
Roman ring with a lion intaglio in 22-karat gold. This Roman-era ring features a central intaglio of a lion carved in carnelian. The band is delicately crafted with twisted friezes. The gold has a deep, matte yellow color, indicative of the ring's high gold content. The setting and shoulders of the ring are fragile and have some losses; this is a collector's item. Roman period, 3rd century.
