Learn more: During the Renaissance, rings evolved from the simple forms of the medieval period to miniature works of art, combining the skills of the chaser, engraver, and enameler, as well as the stonecutter. Cabochon settings still exist, but the evolution of stone cutting has led to the increasing use of table cutting.
