Iberian ring with pink diamonds
This jewel has already gone to its new home
Iberian ring dating from the end of the 18th century, set with 9 rose-cut diamonds on paillon in a stylized plant motif of flowers and leaves.
The diamonds are gray in color, their brilliance is accentuated by the spangle (or tinsel) placed underneath in the closed setting. The estimated weight of the diamonds is 0.60 carats. The shoulders are decorated with two small parallel lines.
The ring is hallmarked owl, attesting to a minimum of 18 karat gold, but tested with acid it appears to be 22 karat. We assume that this is Iberian, Spanish or Portuguese work.
Condition: Given the age of the ring some wear is to be expected. The gold is very matte, the band is very slightly flattened and three diamonds have chips. The one in the center has an open frost but the stone is not broken. If you would like more photos do not hesitate to contact us.
