Art Nouveau Virgin Mary pendant in 18 karat gold. This oval religious medal depicts the Virgin Mary in profile. Her halo is formed of translucent blue enamels created using the plique-à-jour technique. The Virgin is also surrounded by an openwork design. The piece perfectly illustrates the aesthetics of the Art Nouveau period, characterized by the refined use of enamel and floral motifs. The medal is signed "Jener." The reverse of the medal bears the initials JG and the date "May 9, 1936." Art Nouveau religious medal, circa 1930, France.
