1970'S malachite pearl necklace with 9 karat yellow gold clasp (375). Vintage necklace made of 45 malachite balls alternated with 9 karat gold beads. The clasp is a box with an oval volume decorated with textured gold. Necklace made in the 1970's.

Trefoil hallmark (French State hallmark for 9-karat gold).

Pearl sizes: 6 mm to 14 mm
Length : 49 cm

Condition: irregular pearls, natural inclusions, natural cracks

More information : Malachite is a hydrated copper carbonate, displaying various shades of green ranging from light to dark and intense. This stone was highly fashionable in the 19th century for cameos or cabochon cuts. In the 1960s, it was set in jewelry by Buccellati, Schlumberger, Tiffany & Co, etc.
