Victorian Agate cameo pendant decorated with an antique woman in profile, in a 18 karat yellow gold entourage enriched with fine gold cords. 19th century work.
Partially legible goldsmith’s mark, Owl hallmark

Condition: restoration, traces of welds on the back.

Indeed, when it is made up of several layers of color – like this one, black in the background and white for the profile – the agate can be engraved in relief, in order to obtain a pattern.
