Description
Georgian brooch Spanish emeralds Lazo in yellow gold 18 karats (750). Antique brooch taking the shape of a bow, set with twenty-seven emeralds, including two more important in the center of the jewel. The emeralds are set in close setting. The lower part is mobile. Brooch made from a remounting of an earring, dating from 1780, whose emeralds certainly come from colonial mines in Colombia or Peru.

More informations : The pattern is called “Lazo”, Spanish word for bow. Throughout the 18th century, the Iberian Peninsula produced beautiful jewelry, but all stopped in 1809 when Naopleon invaded Portugal.
