Description
Victorian diamond branch brooch in 18 karat gold and silver (800/1000). The brooch takes the shape of a leafy branch, on which thirty-eight rose-cut diamonds sparkle, for a total weight of 0.40 carat approximately. The branch is in silver on one side and in rose gold on the other side. This brooch was probably part of a transformable set. Antique brooch from the 19th century, Victorian French work, Napoleon III period.
During the second Empire (1852-1870), in France, jewellers make naturalistic and realistic pieces to get as close as possible to represent nature.
Owl and swan hallmarks on the frame, eagle head hallmark on the pin.
