Victorian French paste necklace
Description
Victorian French paste necklace made of silver with filigree work, formed of rosettes garnished with foiled faceted pink and green glasses. Those glasses are meant to have a look of pink topaz and emeralds. White enamelled florets with black dots as well as black enamelled leaves with white dots decorate the necklace. On the rosettes, we find small vermeil leaves contrasting with the silver color of the composition. Seed pearls also adorned the necklace. The hook-shaped clasp is concealed and a safety chain secures the jewel. French jewel attributed to Jean-François Legrand, from the middle of the 19th century, circa 1860. France.
