Description

Victorian French choker necklace also called « en « esclavage ». Silver 800 thousandths. This necklace has a main plate decorated with filigree scrolls surrounding the monogram “RJ” in an oval cartouche. Five rows of belcher or rolo chain hold the openwork plate. The clasp is in the form of a hook, a late addition to replace a ribbon. This necklace is worn as a choker. It is a regional French jewel of the 19th century.

Condition: a soldering on one of the chains that brings a little rigidity and imbalance in the way the necklace falls.
