Twisted gold ring
Description
Twisted gold ring in 18 karats (750). Ring made up of a solid gold twisting around a black animal hair (organic material). The ring ends in torque, by two gold balls. This jewel could be a ring or a scarf ring. French ring, circa 1940.
Eagle head hallmarks and partially erased goldsmith’s hallmark.
Finger size: 48 or 4.5 US (ask for a quotation for sizing)
Ring width : 3 mm

Historical point : elephant hair jewelry appeared at the end of the 19th century in Europe. In France, it appears at the beginning of the 20th century. Currently, most elephant species are protected under CITES, the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
