French Regional paste ring
Description
French Regional paste ring : antique ring called “à la française” in silver. Eight red and green paste glass stones surround a faceted oval foiled glass, of an intense red color. Volutes decorate the shoulders of the ring. The ring is embossed and hollowed silver. Ring made by Etienne Renoux of Niort, between 1840-1850. Regional work from Niort, Poitou region, France. These jewels were traditionally wedding rings offered in the regions of Poitou, Normandy and Brittany in the 19th century.
Crab hallmark, ER goldsmith’s mark.
Finger size: 62 EU or 9.75 US (adjustment possible)
Condition: partially damaged settings, wear of time
