More info: This enameling technique is called cloisonné enamel. The method consists in reproducing a design in the jewel, delimited by thin metal strips forming partitions. The metal-bottomed hollows are filled with enamel. The technique is quite ancient, dating back to the 2nd century BC. Lucien Falize (1839-1897) was a jeweler who created magnificent antique jewelry in cloisonné enamel, inspired by the arts of Japan.
