Learn more: The city of Pforzheim specializes in the creation of Jugendstil jewelry (Art Nouveau movement in Germany), drawing inspiration from French jewelry, most often crafted in silver and set with cabochon semi-precious stones. These jewels were more accessible than the precious material jewelry of the French Art Nouveau period. Theodor Fahrner, Georg Kleemann, and the firm Carl Hermann & Speck are the most significant creators of this movement in Germany.

Austrian poppy flower brooch in 14 karat white gold. Retro brooch forming a poppy with pink agate petals, tinted. The heart of the flower is made of onyx centered with an old cut diamond. The leaves are finely executed in nephrite jade. The agate, onyx and nephrite have been carved by hand. The white gold stem is set with five rose-cut diamonds. Antique tie pin branch in silver. It takes the form of a branch decorated with paste stones, imitating the diamond. It is a brooch transformed into a pin. Antique jewel from the late nineteenth century.

Intaglio carnelian soldier Pin in rose gold 18 karats (750). Antique pin, set with a cornelian intaglio of rectangular shape. The intaglio represents a roman soldier with long hair and wearing a helmet. The gem is held by six claws. Pin dating from the early 20th century.

Limoges porcelain Victorian pin in rose gold 18 karats and gilt metal. Antique Victorian pin decorated with a plate of porcelain of Limoges. The plate is shuttle-shaped and is decorated with a young woman, in a romantic spirit of the late 19th century. The plate is in closed setting. The central decoration is surrounded by twenty half pearls. The metal pin was added later, perhaps following a ring transformation. Antique jewel from the late 19th century.

Antique double stick pin in rose gold 18 karats. Victorian double stick pin decorated with two drops of coral with a slightly pinkish-orange color. The two pins are linked to each other by a gold chain. Victorian jewel dating from the second half of the 19th century, France, for hat or tie. They are called “inseparables” and came into use around 1835.

Jugendstil enamelled brooch in silver (800). Antique triangular brooch forming a stylised butterfly. The jewel is centered of a faceted purple glass imitating the amethyst. The brooch is also enamelled, taking the colors of a gradient going from the light pink to the purple. The three enameled bands frame the central stone. The brooch has the lines of the German Art Nouveau period, the Jugendstil. On the reverse, the jewel bears a monogram MM. Arts & Crafts brooch by Barnet Henry Joseph (1865-1929), in rose and yellow 9 karat gold. The brooch has a triangular shape and is composed of openwork interlacing. It is a typical pattern of English Art Nouveau movement, also called Arts & Crafts. In the center, a pink quartz cabochon adorns the piece in a serrated setting. The composition is decorated with a fine elongated pearl (not tested), also called a soufflure. English brooch made by Henry Joseph Barnet, circa 1910.
Art Nouveau orchid brooch in 18 karats matte gold, yellow and green colors, with a triangular shape and decorated with an orchid flower in full bloom centered with a green stone (garnet /glass doublet), surrounded by “whiplash” lines with alternating colors of gold.
