The rest of the jewel is decorated with square garnets and black and white enamelled arabesques. The clasp takes the form of a bow, also set with garnets. A secret compartment opens at the back of the jewel to conceal a small sentimental object (protected by glass). Pendant from the second half of the 19th century, France, circa 1850.

660,00€Saint Esprit du Puy en Velay pendant in 18-karat (750) pink gold. This regional pendant is made of stamped gold leaf decorated with a stylized bird carrying three garnets as a pendant. The center of the jewel is also set with a garnet. Around it, the blue enameled decoration of the jewel has almost disappeared. The Holy Spirit is held at the top by a gold element forming a knot, set with nine garnets. This antique regional Holy Spirit pendant dates from the beginning of the 19th century, circa 1810, Auvergne, France.
Erased rooster hallmark (French state hallmark for 18 karat gold between 1809 and 1819).

3700,00€Russian turquoise drapery necklace in 14 karat (583) rose gold. Drapery necklace composed of eleven drop-shaped plates topped with turquoise cabochons. The turquoise is a beautiful lagoon blue with natural brown inclusions (pyrites and matrix). The necklace is finished with a double chain of flat links. The turquoise may have come from Kazakhstan, a country under Russian rule since the 17th century, where turquoise mines are still found, but more likely from Persia, which supplied countries and courts with its beautiful, intense-blue stones. Turquoise from Kazakhstan is generally blue with a hint of lavender inside, suggesting Persian turquoise. Necklace circa 1900, chain changed afterwards.
On the chain, certainly changed after the necklace was made: Russian “sickle and hammer” hallmark (active after 1958), SAS hallmark on the clasp.

Learn more: Giardinetti rings, or “Little Gardens” in English, appeared in the late 17th century. In the 18th century, the naturalistic trend charmed goldsmiths, leading to the creation of many pieces adorned with floral and animal motifs, especially insects. Giardinetti rings often appear as bouquets of flowers and foliage tied with a ribbon or in the form of a bouquet in a small basket. Highly prized in the mid-18th century, they were mostly made of gold and silver, and sometimes in metal adorned with rhinestones.
